Swung by mid trek to Banks (walking West ) along Hadrians Wall. With the limited food options on this leg, this came as a great suprise. Anyways opted for the special of the day, Chicken Korma, excellent value for money and was a good bowlful! Can't complain, thank you.

Thank you Henry 👍
Absolutely fabulous! Just had one of the best full English breakfasts ever. Breakfast is served until 1pm, so good for the (not-so) early risers 😉 Vegetarian option available also. Great service, and delicious food. Thank you! 🤗

We came here for lunch after visiting Hadrian's Wall. It was a lovely place with good food! They had gluten free bread and a gluten free carrot cake which was amazing! I'm not celeac, but enjoyed the cake immensely Definitely recommend

Stopped for a drink at this lovely little coffee shop. Great character and decor, and very comfortable, we had a very nice 30 mins or so scoffing a homemade scone / jam washed down with a really good coffee. We were lucky to happen across this place and will call in again if we’re in the area. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
Absolutely delightful! Adorable decor, fabulous service, delicious food & tea 😍 Accessible toilet with change table and parent chair. Make it a stop on the Hadrian’s Wall walk, between the Willowford Towers & Poltross Burn Milecastle.
Lovely little tea room, a great place for cyclist and walkers doing hadrians wall. Good food with gf options. Owner very friendly with good local knowledge. Excellent vfm and covid safe with outdoor tables.
I planned my morning hiking stop to have breakfast at House of Meg and they didn’t disappoint! The food was amazing, one of the best breakfast I have had in years! I would definitely recommend a stop here, I will be back at some point because the cakes looked amazing but I didn’t get the chance to sample one.

❤️❤️
Called in for breakfast before heading for Hadrians Wall and glad we did. Great home cooked food and homemade cakes/bakes. We did the short walk around the village and would recommend it.

Had a lovely panini outside in the sun . Great service and made to order fresh food . The prices were reasonable too ! What a find ! You can walk along the wall from House of Meg - we parked in the free car park near the school

Called in here for coffee and cake, before we started our walk. What a lovely, cosy place! The sun was shining so we sat outside. For all the place was busy, we were served in 5 mins. Such a nice man greeted and served us. Thoroughly recommend!

53 miles cycling through the not so gently rolling scenery of Hadrians Wall country builds up a bit of an appetite so when it comes to the obligatory cafe stop you need a filling meal. The House of Meg certainly ticked the right box on that score. Feeling the need to fill up on carbs I opted for baked potato and chose a baked beans and cheese topping. I certainly wasn't disappointed with the quantity and quality. Thankfully it wasn't too filling so I still had enough of an appetite to enjoy a slice of scrumptious caramel shortbread.
As it was such a lovely day we chose to sit outside but I did have a peak in the indoor eating area which looked clean and cosy. Of course the other important thing is the standard of service. The staff at House of Meg are friendly, efficient and accommodating, they also appreciated my compliment on the quality of that caramel shortbread.
The only criticism I have is that, at 53 miles from home, I'll not be able to visit on a regular basis but somehow I think I'll make a return visit. I guess it's not too far from the A69 if I'm driving across to CumbriaGreat food and service despite being close to their closing time. Great value for money and a highly recommended stop on a Hadrian's wall walk.
